Article - Anonymous Edits
From the start of Brickiwiki to late 2007, anonymous edits were allowed. That was until some anonymous users started deleting information on pages, or wrecking galleries. That was until there was a stop to it, and no more anonymous edits anymore. This situation can go two ways, for both the good anonymous users, and the Brickiwiki users that find it annoying.
For the anonymous users, well they have a side to the story. No one knows who the anonymous users are. Some might be cool, and some might be those annoying people who just like deleting stuff. But the good users have a say in this. If they can't create an account because, they have no email or something, then that shouldn't be against them. They should have their chance at editing pages, to help Brickiwiki. I mean, if we make it so that they can't edit pages anymore, then they feel left out of Brickiwiki, and that's not how we want to be recognized.
On the other hand, most users of Brickiwiki get annoyed. When every day you sign on, and an anonymous edit comes and deletes your pictures, or says things on your pages, then you feel like your gonna smack your computer screen. "All that hard work, and it's deleted." But then.........you can click "Complete History" and copy all the stuff and paste it back on. But.......................that anonymous user comes back on and deletes it AGAIN! And the pattern continues until you say "I give up."
So which side am I? I kinda lean on the Brickiwiki users side. I just think that "I don't want this to continue, so anonymous users, sign up for free email, or wait until your birthday and you turn 13 or whatever your problem is."
Now the question is, what side are you? This is a lego site, and we don't want people to feel left out. But, it just depends.
