LEGO my Bio

home - BrickiWiki

I have been building with and collecting LEGOs for nearly 27 years. I received my first LEGO set from my Grandparents when I was just five years old; it was a classic space set, marked for six to twelve. I didn't care. It was love at first sight.

In the late 80's when the forestmen sets started coming out along with some of the coolest Castles to date and then later, Wolf Pack, I got hooked into that genre as well. I've never been too big on the town/city sets, but I have dabbled there.

The creation of this Wiki was perfect timing. I had just started a few Lego Blogs, hoping to get a report going with other AFOLs. Amy found me on MySpace and invited me over. I was thrilled to come.

Take a look at my creations, you can visit each sub-category by clicking on the corresponding links below. Please feel free to comment on my MOCs or ask any questions...that's what I'm here for. Enjoy!

My Other Wikis:
I'm a member on probably 10 or 11 wikis...but I only really contribute to three, BrickiWiki being at the top of the list. I created a wiki dedicated to Dungeons & Dragons role-playing maps and the other of the three is for hand-made comicbook superheroes, created by my best friend. I'm also a member of wetpaint central, but that's entirely necessary for administrators and wiki creators.

The remaining wikis are LEGO or D&D related and I joined in an effort to promote my own wikis. The D&D Map wiki, especially, since it can complement nearly any other D&D related wiki without duplicating content.

My Family:
This is my greatest MOC...my family...I actually love them more than my LEGOs...if you can belive that.

So your first set was a Classic Space set circa 1980? Which one? My first set was same theme, same era -- the Alpha-1 Rocket Base (actually, it was given to my brother, not to me, but I played with it as much as he did). The Beta-1 Command Base followed in short order (this time, to me), and those two sets still hold a huge space in my heart.

Still have all your original LEGOs? I think I could still build 95% of Alpha-1 and Beta-1 with the original pieces. A handful have been lost, broken, or chewed up by various dogs, and the smiley faces have been rubbed off the original minifigs, but somehow the collection largely survived numerous toy-purges over the years.

The set I coveted and never received: the Galaxy Explorer. At the time, it seemed like Holy Grail of Classic Space. By the time I had the resources to go after the big sets, the blue-and-gray era was over and Classic Space was all white-and-green...
